After Scream Blue Murder successfully rebranded Styne Group, they asked us to design, build and copywrite a suite of multi-sites for the Group and its constituent companies: Styne Refrigeration, Styne Engineering and Styne Electrical.
Styne Group is a growing business. They required multi-sites that showcased their specialist services, the synergies between their companies and how Styne Group provided a ‘one-stop shop’ for their clients. The multi-sites needed to be:
- Easy to navigate so clients can find the services are looking for
- Capable of expanding as the business develops
- Easy for in-house staff to administer and change
- Have consistent branding and messaging across the different businesses
Firstly, we undertook a competitor analysis. We looked at different sized firms before proposing a site structure to Styne Group.
In consultation with Styne Group, Scream Blue Murder designed a multi-site suite. Here, each company had its own standalone microsite under the ‘mothership’ Styne Group site.
This design enables the same computer code to be used for the entire site. As a result, it reduces duplication and allows Styne Group to easily add additional companies to the Group. In addition, this methodology future-proofs the site, giving the company complete control of their site and greatly reducing future programming costs.
At Scream Blue Murder, we create websites using atomic design methodology. This means anyone can use the elements we have designed to build new web pages. In other words, all future work that the client adds to the website is automatically formatted into the style and branding of the Styne Group.
In addition, the multi-site structure means that each section of the site can have its own editors, so individual teams can write and edit content or add new web pages easily.
To showcase each company’s technical expertise, they had their own standalone microsite linked to the Styne Group site. These microsites emphasised the services and specialisms of each enterprise while highlighting the synergies between them. In addition, they used case studies to showcase how the companies work together on projects, providing customers with a ‘one-stop shop’.
- A unified multi-site rather than individual sites
- Easy site navigation
- Fast page download speeds for both mobile and desktop users
- Digital templates to display content across a range of screen sizes
- Design templates for in-house staff to upload new content, maintaining the look and feel of the site in line with Styne Group’s new branding.
The site’s design appealed to Styne Group’s diverse range of clients, including private landlords, local authorities, and specialised food, telecommunications, and pharmaceutical businesses.
Its structure is easy to use for both existing and prospective clients. In addition, we used our expertise in search engine optimisation to ensure that Styne Group is easy to find on popular search engines.
Our copywriters and technical authors helped make complex information clear and understandable without losing the important technical details that give Styne Group their competitive advantage.
The site gives prominence to case studies. They illustrate the bespoke service Styne provides to its customers, demonstrating how innovation is at the core of Styne Group’s approach.
The Styne Group multi-site designs were tested to ensure they were accessible for people with disabilities who use the web. They, along with all Scream Blue Murder website designs, conform to W3C Accessibility Standards.
Styne Group is delighted with the suite of websites we delivered, highlighting the specialist services they offer.
